Recall that in September, the 20-year-old who was born in the UK to Nigerian parents met with Mr. Pinnick who is a friend of his father to discuss the move and was even offered a guaranteed place in Nigeria's World Cup squad for Russia 2018.
Now the Swansea striker, on loan from Chelsea, who is rated as one of England's brightest young talents has earned his first call-up to the England senior squad for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
Abraham is likely to make his debut in one of the Wembley games after England's top striker Harry Kane pulled out due to injury.
In a statement by the young striker, he made it clear he wanted England over Nigeria.
'I see myself as being a long-term England player. That is where my main focus is and I am 100 per cent focused on trying to get into that team.
'I was pretty set on England really. It was flattering (that Nigeria wanted me) — it was nice to know that I was doing something right — but my main focus was England.'
