Congratulations
to Nigeria as they are the reigning world champions in under 17
level. The golden eaglets deserved the trophy as they repeatedly beat
mexico 3 goals to nil, after beating them 6-1 in their first group game.
Nigeria are now the most successful nation in the U-17 cadre having
lifted the trophy for a record fourth time. The Eaglets also set a goal
scoring record with their haul of 26 goals, thus eclipsing Germany's
record of 24 goals set in 2011.
The
awards of the tournament went to, Kelechi Iheanacho of Nigeria (Golden
Ball), Ivan Ochoa of Mexico (Bronze Ball), Musa Muhammed of Nigeria
(FIFA Fairplay Award), Valmir Berisha of Sweden (Golden Boot) and
goalkeeper Dele Alampusa of Nigeria (Golden Glove, L-R) pose with their
