Two men arrested for killing their grandmother and using her for money ritual in Edo
The Edo state police command has arrested two men accused of killing their grandmother, Grace Ovbiedo, for money ritual in Edo State.
The suspects namely Dickson Oluka, Salaya Oluka and two others who are currently at large, Martins Oluka and Austin Enayi, attacked the woman at her home at No. 28 Asowata Street, Ohovbe quarters, Ikpoba-Okha local government area of the state on December 18th 2017.
The suspects who are all internet fraudsters, had contacted a native doctor on how to get rich quick. The native doctor instructed them to tie a live tortoise to their back and kill someone very close to them before they would become very rich. The suspects on getting home, strapped a tortoise to their back and smashed their grandmother's head against a wall.
They were apprehended while attempting to dispose the body of the elderly woman. The tortoise used by the suspects is currently in police custody and would be used as an exhibit.
Confirming their arrest, the spokesperson of the Edo Police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor, said the police is currently on the trail of the two other suspects. Meanwhile, the arrested suspects will be arraigned in court soon.
