Rivers Police parade 36 suspected ritualists, kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists



The Rivers State Police Command paraded 36 suspected armed robbers, ritualists, kidnappers and cultists arrested in various parts of the state within the past three weeks.

The command headquarters in Moscow Road, Port Harcourt,  the Commissioner of Polic, CP Zaki Ahmed, disclosed that the suspected rtualist, Ifeanyi Dike who escaped from custody and was re-arrested in Jos, Plateau State has been arraigned and is facing trial.
"Today I have invited you with joy in my heart to present to you with humility the modest successes recorded by the Command, to wit" said the police boss.
1. ARREST OF NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPERS/RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION
Men of the Anti-kidnapping Unit (AKU) on 9/9/2017 at about 1100hrs arrested Samuel Azuogu ‘m’, Emeka Nweke ‘m’ and Charles Nweke ‘m’ at Eberi Omuma Community in Etche Local Government Area. The suspects are among the criminal gang that has been terrorizing the Etche Local Government Area and have confessed to the kidnap of one Mr. Fidelis Amangwu of Eberi who was kidnapped by four armed men and killed. The hoodlums were arrested during a gun battle for which the Police over powered and arrested them. They are helping the Police in Investigation and will be charged to Court as soon as Investigation is concluded. Items recovered from them include: one Locally made gun, one Pump Action and a Sienna Bus riddled with bullets.
2. ARREST OF KIDNAPPERS AND RESCUE OF VICTIM
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in a covert operation led by the Commander, SP Edward Shadare on 14/9/2017 arrested one precious Nwala ‘m’ from Chokocho Etche whose gang invited one Olusegun Akin from Lagos to Port Harcourt to cover a wedding Event but unknown to him, he was kidnapped and taken to a bush in Etche. The kidnappers were traced and tracked to a creek in Etche where the victim was rescued unhurt and the suspect arrested. He has made useful confessions and will be due in Court soonest.
3. ARREST OF KIDNAPPERS AND ARMED BANDISTS
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in a covert operation, on 5/9/2017 at about 1300hrs at Bamgoi Tai, Road arrested the duo of Thomas Ndonwa in and Goodluck Gwawa ‘m’ who are members of the criminal gang that blocks the Bamgoi Ogoni Road, robs motorists and kidnaps passengers. They were arrested from their hideout, where they were keeping one Emmanuel Imabe ‘m’ who they kidnapped on 5/09/2017 at Bamgoi Tai Community. He was rescued unhurt. Exhibits recovered from them include one locally made pistol, one cartridge and 28 rounds of Live Ammunition. The suspects are making further useful statements and will be due in Court.
4. ARREST OF SUSPECTED RITUALISTS
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) on 3/9/2017 at about 0710hrs arrested the duo of Miracle Chibuzor ‘f’ 16yrs and Gabriel Okere Okeke ‘m’ 75yrs. They are said to be members of a syndicate that specializes in kidnapping children and using them for ritual. They have confessed to the crime and are helping the Police to burst their gang and will be due in Court as soon as Investigation is over. Meanwhile little Miss Onyinyechi Nwokorie ‘f’ 4yrs that was recovered from them, has been released to her parents.
5. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS AND RECOVERY OF AK47 RIFILE:
Operatives of the CP Crack Team, acting on a tip-off arrested Emmanuel Chijoke ‘m’ and Chioma Kenneth ‘f’ in whose possession one AK47 Rifle with breach No. AD337047 was recovered. The duo are said to be members of a syndicate that specializes in attacking the Police and snatching their Rifles. They have made useful confessions and efforts are seriously on to arrest other members of the gang.
6. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTIST:
Men of the Anti- Cultism Unit (ACU) in a covert operation arrested one Lucky Mark Aminikpo, a notorious cultist who has confessed to have carried out several cult activities in Ahoada and its environs including burning four houses and killing the following persons namely; Highman Lucky ‘m’, Bobo ‘m’, Wisdom ‘m’, and Daniel ‘m’, he confessed to have beheaded Highman. He is a member of Dey-Gbam cult group. He is helping the Police and will be due in court soonest.
Also the Anti-cultism Unit in another Operation arrested one Lekia Deemua ‘m’ from Okwali Community in Khana LGA. The suspect who is a notorious cultist confessed to have burnt three houses, killing about 30 persons of a rival cult group in Okwali community among other criminal activities carried out by his cult group. He is helping the Police, as efforts are on to arrest members of his cult group.
Again, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit acting on a credible intelligence arrested the duo of Destiny Vincent ‘m’ and Blessing Isaac ‘m’ who are confessed members of Dey-Well cult group and the criminal gang terrorizing Ubio/Abarikpo Community in Ahoada Local Government Area. The duo were arrested at Tombia Street, GRA Port Harcourt. And on interrogation have confessed to belonging to Dey-well, whose recent activities led to the burning of houses at Abarikpo in Ahoada West Local Government Area and also responsible for the kidnap of their paramount Ruler.
In another covert operation, men of the Anti-Cultism Unit on 9/9/2017 arrested Chris Jerry ‘m’, Lawrence Promise ‘m’, Stanley Nduka ‘m’ alias Star Boy ‘m’, Joy David ‘f’ and Ebikeme Eric ‘f’. The suspects were arrested at Chokocho in Etche Local Government Area and have confessed to belonging to a gang of armed robbers, terrorizing Etche and its environs, one of their victims was a man whose Honda Pilot was robbed and sold for N500,000.00. Items recovered from them include’s one cut to size locally made single Barrel gun with live cartridges. They are being questioned and will be arraigned in Court very soon.
7. ARREST OF KIDNAPPERS
The Anti-Robbery Team of the Okehi Division arrested Emeka Nwala ‘m’ 25yrs and Otamasiri Onyesu ‘m’ 19yrs. They are alleged to have kidnapped the paramount Ruler of Umuechem who was kidnapped and held hostage for several days. Their arrest was facilitated by the civil society group who assisted the Police tremendously. They are helping the Police and will be charged to Court soonest.
8. ARREST OF A FAKE POLICE OFFICER
Men of the CP Monitoring Unit led by SP Grace Wonwu on 13/9/2017 at about 0945hrs arrested a fake Police Sergeant Mr. Benjamin Tanko an indigene of Kajuru in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He was in a police camouflage at the Oil Mill Market committing felony. The suspect who claimed to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police attacked to the Port Harcourt Area Command, is helping the Police in Investigation. Items recovered from him include different Police I.D Cards bearing different force numbers.
9. A CASE OF CHILD ABUSE/TORTURE
The Human Rights Officer of the Command, DSP Emmanuel Ukwenya arrested one Barrister Elizabeth Agboje who it is alleged has been consistently torturing and assaulting little Miss Bright Maxson ‘f’ 9yrs accusing her of being a witch and thief. She is also alleged to have subjected her to all manner of degrading treatments for over 7yrs. She is helping the Police in Investigation.
10. DEATH AND ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS
On 5/9/2017 at about 0730hrs, suspected armed Robbers attacked the business premises of Bet9ja house at Ihuje Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area. The owner of the Pool one West Philip was killed, SARS Operatives responded and a gun battle ensued, one of the robbery suspects was killed and one arrested and one SARS Operative sustained bullet wound.
11. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT, RECOVERY OF SNATCHED VEHICLE AND AMMUNITION
On 9/9/2017 at about 2100hrs, SARS Operatives on patrol along Rumuepirikom arrested one Kelechi Wike of No. 6 Market Road Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt with one Toyota Corrola Saloon Car No. RUM 621 AA and one 7.62mm live Ammunition. vehicle recovered from the suspect was snatched at gun point from the owner Boma Ogam of 12 Birabi Street, GRA on 8/9/2017 at about 2000hrs at Total Filling Station by Rumuola/Rumuadulu Road junction, Port Harcourt.
12. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF SNATCHED VEHICLE
On 12/9/2017 at about 1000hrs SARS Operatives on patrol along GRA Phase II Port Harcourt arrested the suspects and recovered one Spectra Kia Saloon Car No. ABU 171 BB. Vehicle was snatched on gun point at GRA on 10/9/2017.
13. ARREST OF FIVE (5) ARMED ROBBERY GANG AND RECOVERY OF SNATCHED VEHICLE/ARMS AND AMMUNITION
On 16/9/2017 at about 0600hrs, SARS Operatives on patrol arrested a five man gang of Armed Robbers and recovered the following exhibits. (1) Three locally made Pistols, (2) Fifteen rounds of .9mm Live Ammunition. (3) One Toyota 4 Runner Jeep without No. (4) One Honda Accord Car without No. (5) One Toyota Corrola Car without No.
14. RESCUE OF A KIDNAP VICTIM
On 17/9/2017 at about 1600hrs, one Precious Amadi ‘f’ 12yrs Old Girl who was kidnapped along Club Road Town Port Harcourt on the 16/9/2017 was rescued in an uncompleted building at Eneka Community by SARS Operatives acting on a tip-off and the victim has been handed over to her parents Mr. & Mrs. Amadi of town Port Harcourt.
15. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER AND RECOVERY OF SNATCHED VEHICLE
On 19/9/2017 at about 1930hrs, SARS Operatives on patrol recovered a Toyota Avensus Car No. UMA 92 HR, vehicle was snatched at Umuahia by Armed Robbers, one suspect Samuel Peter ‘m’ was arrested in possession of the vehicle.
16. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER AND RECOVERY OF 129 ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION
On 20/9/2017 at about 1800hrs, SARS Operatives on patrol along Ahoada Omoku Road arrested two suspected armed robbers who identified themselves as Ordu Odiereke and Progress Ugbe and the following exhibits were recovered from them. (1) One hundred and twenty eight (128) rounds of 7.62mm Live Ammunition. (2) Two AK 47 Riffle Magazines (3) One Toyota Carina Car No. FST 360 BC.
